Lea Becker joined the research group "Transformation of Consumption and Provisioning" in October 2024. In her research, the political scientist is interested in the nexus of democracy and sustainability and how they enable and support each other. She has been pursuing her doctorate at the University of Münster since 2025.
Lea studied in the Franco-German double degree programme "International and European Governance" and spent her bachelor's and master's semesters alternating between the University of Münster and Sciences Po Lille. During her studies, she deepened her interest in political theory, with a particular focus on sustainability, justice and deliberation. She dedicated her Master's thesis to the role of democracy in achieving a good life for all. In her work at RIFS, she has focused on enabling sustainable lifestyles as part of the "EU 1.5° Lifestyles" project.
