A critical review of participatory processes led by Academia

Learning and co-creation (via ZOOM)
May 26th and 27th
3pm-6pm CET

CHAIRS:
Diletta di Marco (POLIMI), Azucena Moran (IASS), Oliver Escobar (University of Edinburgh)

Let’s talk about participatory democracy and collective learning. What are we doing right? How do we prioritize communities? How do we identify and address our own mistakes?

During this digital workshop, we will produce a collaborative framework to identify and conceptualize the diverse challenges, impact, legitimacy and temporalities of participatory processes led or designed by academia. Our goal is to critically assess, assemble and envision the roles and limits of academics within the ideation, implementation and evaluation of democratic innovations. This space will be a co-creative experiment of paper development: i.e., we will co-author with all participants two (academic and non-academic) publications.

Maximum: 24 participants
