Dr. Stephan Dudeck

Stephan Dudeck arbeitet als Anthropologe in enger Kooperation mit Indigenen Völkern in Sibirien und kann auf langjährige Feldforschungserfahrungen (seit 1993) in Rentierhalter-Gemeinschaften in Westsibirien zurückblicken. Sein Engagement in sozialwissenschaftlicher Forschung mit einem Focus auf die Schnittmengen von sozialem Aktivismus und Wissenschaft reicht mehr als 20 Jahre zurück. Sein wissenschaftliches Interesse wuchs zusammen mit persönlichem Engagement in Indigenen Auseinandersetzungen für eine nachhaltige Zukunft, Land- und Ressourcenrechte, und dem Erhalt indigener Rechte auf Selbstbestimmung angesichts von Enteignungen und Umsiedlungen durch Staat und Erdölindustrie. Er knüpfe enge Beziehungen und Freundschaften mit indigenen Partnern, von denen einige schon mehr als 25 Jahre andauern. Nach seiner Dissertation zu indigenem Widerstand und Strategien der Selbstdarstellung in Russlands westsibirischer Erdölprovinz, widmete er sich Formen der Zusammenarbeit in Forschungsprojekten zur oral history und auf Einladung indigener Freunde zur Dokumentation und Bewahrung von kulturellem Erbe. Er ist wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter für arktische Forschung an der Universität Tartu in Estland, und war am Max-Planck Institut für ethnologische Forschung, dem Arctic Centre der Universität Lappland und dem Centre for Arctic Social Studies an der Europäischen Universität in Saint Petersburg beschäftigt.
