Dr. Julika Gittner
Affiliate Scholar
Julika Gittner works in close collaboration with the ACSD group on several research and practice-oriented activities. Together with Sebastian Matthias (ACSD group affiliate), she will co-author a journal article on the integration of artistic formats in sustainability consultation processes, to be submitted to the Urban Transformations journal. The article builds on the transdisciplinary collaboration between the Co-Creation and ACSD groups within the KlimaKieze consultation process. In addition, she contributes to the conceptual development of the group through participation in ACSD jour fixes and other reflective exchange formats. She is also involved in the co-development of third-party funding applications that incorporate art-based methods, building on previous initiatives such as “DigiClup” or “Dialog” in 2025.
In parallel, Julika Gittner collaborates with the Co-Creation group on the development of a set of guidelines designed to enable public administrations to replicate participatory processes and formats that were pioneered in cooperation with the Berlin-Mitte administration in the KlimaKieze consultation process. The development of these guidelines is informed by a series of workshops with administrative bodies from other Berlin districts. In this context, IJG contributes to the workshops through presentations of artistic formats and supports the guidelines by providing specific input on the timeframes, resources, knowledge, and tools required for integrating artistic formats into administrative consultation processes.
