Dr. Eduardo Kairuz ist Architekt, Künstler und Wissenschaftler und Co-Direktor des Global Extraction Observatory (GEO). Seine Arbeit untersucht, wie Krisen Räume verändern und Wege für soziale und klimatische Gerechtigkeit eröffnen. Seine praxisorientierte Forschung wurde auf bedeutenden internationalen Veranstaltungen präsentiert, darunter die Architekturbiennale in Venedig und die Designbiennale in Gwangju. Zu seinen Einzelausstellungen zählen „Variations" in The Substation, Melbourne, und „Dismantled" im Centro Cultural Chacao, Caracas.

Seine aktuelle Forschung konzentriert sich auf Repräsentation im neuen Klimaregime und darauf, wie undisziplinierte Formen der Raumpraxis eine Ästhetik des Widerstands prägen können. Bevor er 2011 an die Fakultät für Kunst, Design und Architektur der Monash University kam, war er Gastdozent an der University of Technology Sydney und Assistenzprofessor an der Universidad Central de Venezuela. Zuvor war er in Venezuela tätig, wo er preisgekrönte Projekte zur Sanierung von Slums entworfen hat.
