Pradeep Singh is an internationally renowned ocean governance experts and holds a senior management position at the Oceano Azul Foundation in Lisbon, Portugal. Furthermore, he represents the Foundation in international negotiations and processes that are of relevance also for the research conducted within the Ocean Governance research group at RIFS.

The collaboration with Pradeep Singh provides an opportunity for continued exchange about developments in international ocean governance, specifically with regard to the work and role of non-governmental organisations that are engaging actively in these processes. With the cooperation, we aim to exchange and collaborate on governance processes at the international level related to emerging and pertinent issue areas such as deep-seabed mining (DSM), marine carbon dioxide removal (mCDR), or marine pollution.

Furthermore, Pradeep's expertise in the area of deep-seabed mining (DSM) will be invaluable for the BMBF-funded research project Mining Impact 3 (MI3), a European JPI-Oceans project, which was officially kicked off in September 2025 and will run until June 2029.
