Arbeitslehre und gesellschaftliche Resilienz in Zeiten von Polykrisen
Societies of the 21 st century are shaped by profound transformation processes that in creasingly manifest as interconnected crises, often described as polycrises. These dynamics call for educational approaches that empower individuals to critically reflect and actively participate in shaping societal change. Against this backdrop, the interdisciplinary field of work studies positioned at the intersection of work, technology, economy, and society gains particular significance. This article demonstrates how work studies can contribute to strengthening societal resilience by fostering technical literacy, work-related and economic competencies, and experiences of self-efficacy, thus enabling individuals to deal productively with uncertainty, contradictions, and complex transformation processes. In this way, work studies support the formation of responsible citizens capable of engaging in the democratic shaping of resilient societies in the face of multiple crisis dynamics.
