Headline: Use of Digital Twins in Model-Based Systems Engineering for Sustainable Products and Processes

In collaboration with the German chapter of the International Council of Systems Engineering (INCOSE, Gesellschaft für Systems Engineering (GfSE e.V.)) IASS researchers from the Junior Research Group “ProMUT“ are organizing a two-day workshop on the use of digital twins and model-based systems engineering  in the context of corporate sustainability management.

The aim of the workshop is to clarify and exchange perspectives on current challenges in model-based systems engineering and the implementation of digital twins in support of corporate sustainability practices. In this workshop participants share insights and reports of digital twin use-cases in relation to the creation, use and management of environmental information and to discuss the relevance of requirements and criteria for the development of vocabularies and reference models in this field.

The “ProMUT” project examines how general sustainability management activities in product-oriented manufacturing companies – such as design, analysis, monitoring and reporting - are supported by information systems, what are the latest challenges and what is the potential of digital technologies in supporting practitioners in industrial work systems in their sustainability initiatives.

The workshop is organized in four sessions, focusing on a general introduction to the topics of sustainability management and digital twins and two sessions for work in focus groups. At the end of each workshop day there will also be some time for the general discussions of the topics, questions and ideas which emerged during the sessions.

The workshop language is German, and the workshop will be held online on Thursday, 3 February, from 9am to 6pm, and Friday, 4 February, from 9am to 1pm respectively. If you want to share an industrial or scientific perspective on the concept of digital twins in relation to environmental information or corporate sustainability management, please send your proposal by Email to Malte Reißig.

If you are interested in contributing to this workshop as an attendee you can register your interest using this form on the GfSE website.
