Noise nuisance in a city that never sleeps

Not only air pollution, but also traffic noise affects the health of city residents. The Net4Cities project addresses both air and noise pollution and is presenting a webinar on the effects of persistent urban noise. In the webinar on noise pollution, experts from the German Aerospace Center (DLR) explain the health impacts of prolonged exposure  to noise. At the same time, the Barcelona City Council presents one of the first city-wide noise monitoring networks in Europe.

In the webinar, a noise expert from the DLR will provide information about the significance of traffic noise for health, and a representative of the City of Barcelona will report on the reasons for setting up the noise monitoring network and their experiences with it.
Net4Cities is installing shared noise monitoring terminals with traffic counting functions in 11 cities across Europe. This webinar provides insights into the importance of a better understanding of noise as a health risk to the environment. There will be time for questions and answers at the end of the webinar.
