Beyond Profit: Redefining Business for Social Value and Sustainability

Can business heal instead of harm? In an interactive workshop, RIFS Fellow Adina Deacu will explore how companies can solve social issues while staying financially sustainable.

What if business was not about maximizing profit, but about solving social issues and creating value for communities, while still being financially sustainable? This interactive workshop challenges participants to imagine just that.

Through small group discussions, guided prompts, and creative exercises, participants will:

• Analyze systemic barriers that keep the old model in place.
• Share unconventional ideas and resources.
• Leave with a personal action pledge for shaping the future of business.

The format combines science, practice, and playfulness: from an icebreaker that fosters deep connection, to structured turn-taking that ensures every voice is heard, to tangible “action postcards” that make your ideas last beyond the room.
