PermaGov Stakeholder Workshop: Improving Marine Governance for the EU Ocean Pact and European Seas

The workshop will provide an interactive platform to discuss, brainstorm, and shape the future of marine governance in the EU and European seas. It will bring together around 50 participants from research, policy making, industry and civil society from across Europe, with a focus on marine energy, biodiversity, transport, and plastics. The workshop aims are to: discuss critical challenges and opportunities for marine governance, including for the upcoming EU Ocean Act and the revision of Marine Strategy Framework Directive; present emerging themes in marine governance and identify opportunities for upscaling lessons from the PermaGov project to national authorities, regional seas, the EU, and international fora; provide an overview of key findings from the 9 PermaGov case studies and offer recommendations and targeted strategies to improve marine governance performance; and present e-governance approaches and jointly assess their potential in terms of usability for stakeholders and their potential contribution to policy.

Attendance is by invitation only. 

The workshop will take place at Thon Hotel Bristol Stephanie, Avenue Louise 91-93, 1050 Brussels, Belgium.
