Shyam Wuppuluri
Affiliate Scholar
As an affiliate of the TranS-Mind Group, Shyam seeks to continue his participation in the AMA project and related initiatives on sustainability, knowledge production, and transformative approaches to societal change. Building on the insights gained during his fellowship (2024–2025) at RIFS, he will continue to engage with questions concerning the relationship between scientific inquiry and planetary well-being.
During his fellowship, Shyam also examined how practices such as deep listening and compassionate speech can foster more inclusive, reflective, and psychologically safe spaces within academia and beyond. The aim is not simply conflict resolution, but the creation of conditions in which people can better understand one another’s fears, aspirations, and perspectives while co-creating practices that promote peace and well-being. This affiliation would further enable Shyam to explore synergies with other research institutes and organisations working on similar themes related to dialogue, participation, institutional cultures and social transformation, while providing an institutional framework through which he can contribute to, initiate, and support related activities at RIFS whenever opportunities arise.
