Nino Jordan's research focuses on environmental policy and governance. He has specifically worked on climate policy, the governance of embodied environmental impacts, resource efficiency and eco-innovation. Next to academic scholarship Nino has led or contributed to a number of reports for ministries and European institutions. In particular, he has coordinated an international research work package on eco-innovation indicators. During his Klaus Töpfer Sustainability Fellowship at RIFS, Nino Jordan will research "International policy learning for rapid evaluation, adaptation and diffusion of embodied emission standards".

He has been working professionally on environmental challenges since 2010, first with the Wuppertal Institute for Climate, Environment and Energy and then with the UCL Institute for Sustainable Resources, where he is currently the Programme Lead for the MSc in Sustainable Resources: Economics, Policies and Transitions. He studied political science and international relations at the University of Bremen. As an exchange student, he studied international political economy at the Universidad de Belgrano in Buenos Aires and was a research assistant at Yale University. He wrote his PhD thesis on climate policy and the governance of embodied emissions at UCL.
