Mona Christina Horn is exploring the role of the global agriculture sector in achieving net zero methane emissions. Her analysis focuses on the discussions around the alternative greenhouse gas metric GWP* that takes place within the livestock sector, the largest contributor to agricultural methane emissions. For that, she is examining the arguments made by scientists, corporations/industries, national governments, and intergovernmental organizations. She is also investigating their self-imposed methane targets against the background of the Paris Agreement and the global goal of net zero greenhouse gas emissions within the UNFCCC framework.
