Karina Marzano

Karina Marzano is a PhD Candidate at the Willy Brandt School of Public Policy at the University of Erfurt under the supervision of Professor Andreas Goldthau and a Scholarship holder of a three-year EIZ-Stipendium of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung. She is also Associate Fellow at the Research Institute for Sustainability (RIFS).

She is a licensed attorney and holds a Bachelor of Laws degree at the Federal University of Minas Gerais, Brazil; an MBA degree in International Relations from the Getulio Vargas Foundation, Brazil; and a Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree in European Law and Integration from the Europa-Institut, Saarland University, Germany.

Until August 2019, Karina worked as Project Manager of the Regional Programme on Energy Security and Climate Change in Latin America of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation. Karina´s research lies at the intersection between climate and trade. Her PhD project centers on the role of private governance in the global energy transition.
