Judith Pape

Junior Fellow (Alumni)

Judith is a freelancing social scientist, facilitator and campaigner at the intersection of democracy and climate justice activism.

She holds a M.A. in Sociology from the University of Freiburg i.B. Since her graduation on the discourse phenomenon of "green guilt" as a disempowering and transformation inhibiting factor in neoliberal societies, Judith has been curious about political agency and possible modes of transformative empowerment. At KIEZconnect, she regularly facilitates open neighborhood assemblies, where neighbours learn self-organization and start community projects. With Transformation Haus und Feld she campaigns for the establishment of a socio-ecological Transformation Center at the former airport Tempelhof in the heart of Berlin, where citizens should soon be enabled to learn all skills and solutions for the socio-ecological transitions of the Berlin/Brandenburg area.

At the RIFS, Judith investigates one particular solution of the socio-ecological transformation: Public-Commons-Partnerships as a framework for long-term cooperations between public authorities and local communities (commoners).
