Diana Gutierrez holds a bachelor's degree in philosophy and is currently pursuing a master's degree in political science at the Otto Suhr Institute (OSI) at Freie Universität Berlin (FU Berlin). For her master's thesis, she is examining justice-based approaches to multilateral climate arrangements, such as climate clubs, for the ClimAct project. Under the supervision of Charlotte Unger, she will examine how procedural and distributional justice have evolved in coalitions of state and non-state actors, particularly the CCAC.
In her previous work experience, she has worked in both consulting and academic research projects. In the development cooperation sector, she assisted the International Forest Policy department at GIZ with the benefits, challenges, and lessons learned report for the REDD+ voluntary carbon storage programme's readiness phase. For the inter- and transdisciplinary research project PRODIGY, Diana conducted semi-structured interviews with community leaders to identify social tipping points that contribute to soil and land use transformations in the Amazon region. In her free time, she enjoys bike tours, long treks in the mountains and chess boxing.
