Headline: Status of the MgB2-based high-power DC cable demonstrator within BEST PATHS

The EU-funded collaborative project BEST PATHS explores new pathways for delivering reliable power in Europe through the large-scale integration of growing shares of renewable energy. BEST PATHS includes a demonstrator based on superconducting high-power links, which aims to validate the MgB2 technology for HVDC transmission. Here we present the current status of the project at the end of 2.5 years of design and development activities.
