The IASS Fellowship Programme is inspired by the Potsdam Memorandum’s call to gather all sources of ingenuity and inspiration from academia, politics, business and civil society to address the sustainability challenges of our time. The fellows are a key resource for the institute; they support our research, improve our transdisciplinary methodology, and, together with our researchers, reach out to political, economic and social actors. More than 200 Fellows from over 40 countries have visited the IASS since 2010.  You can find a list of current and former fellows here.

For 2019, the IASS is seeking applications from people in academia, politics, the private sector and civil society, who will focus on the following issues:

  • Theories and methodologies of transformation and transformative research
  • Concepts and methodologies for collecting and measuring the societal impact of transformation research

The Fellowship Programme is aimed at highly qualified individuals from academia, the private sector and civil society, who provide their expertise, inspiration and creative input during their stay at the IASS . In return, the institute offers fellows the opportunity to develop their ideas in an international community of well-known researchers within the institute as well as the Potsdam-Berlin research area.

All applications will be reviewed by the Board of Directors and external reviewers before the final selection is made by the Scientific Advisory Board of the IASS. The deadline for submitting applications is 19 August 2018.

More information and the application form can be found here.
