Headline: Effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on the off-grid renewable energy sector: challenges and opportunities. What is the role for policy?

Date: October 7, 2021; Venue: Online (Zoom)
Time: 14:00 - 16:30

This closed workshop is organized jointly by the Investigating the Systemic Impacts of the Global Energy Transition (ISIGET) Research Group at IASS Potsdam, HEDERA Sustainable Solutions and the Impact-Driven & Action-Based Research Project (IMPACT-R).

Aims of the workshop

In this session, we will use an innovative, co-creative, participatory approach to map the main challenges and opportunities faced in the off-grid renewable energy sector, especially on securing energy finance. We will also discuss how these issues are linked and identify appropriate policy responses. This workshop will be co-facilitated by Dr. Maria Apergi, the Scientific Project leader of the ISIGET project, Dr. Natalia Realpe Carrillo, Klaus Töpfer Sustainability Fellow at IASS and CEO of HEDERA, and Gunnar Raasch M.P.P., Willy Brandt School of Public Policy.

This event is by invitation only. All participants are involved in the off-grid renewable energy sector. These high-level discussions are an opportunity for participants to connect with others in the field and take home new insights on the topics and co-learning approach.
